This site grew out of my effort to learn more about the butterflies of Wisconsin. Since its beginnings in 2000 as “Butterflies of Waushara County", it has grown to encompass not only the whole state of Wisconsin, but also various other insects (dragonflies, damselflies, and tiger beetles).
